A self-contained operation, Tha Unda is comprised of emcee/producer SugaKane and emcee, J-Luv. They are no strangers to the ebb and flow of the industry and have stood the test of time since their creation in the Joe West dorm of San Jose State University. What started out as 4 now stands with two members who maintain the hunger, passion, and love of the music and the culture. 

Embodying the Bay Area’s independent ethos, J and Kane have released top-quality projects: UndaEstimated, UndaPressure, and Return of the West (EP). As SugaKane continues to cook up new musical backdrops, the duo is ready to release new music to all those who love great music and lyrics. West Coast is a strong influence but SugaKane’s Jamaican roots can be felt on tracks as well. 

While Kane pulls double duty on the mic and behind the boards, J-Luv is focused on crafting lyrics that compliment, challenge, and stand out in the ever-crowded music space. Aggressive delivery, flexible flows, and varying subject matter make J’s lyrics replay-worthy.
